Ingredients

  • 2 tsp
    canola oil
  • 1 lb
    chicken pieces with skin and bones removed
  • 1/2
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    garlic clove, minced
  • 1 lb
    tomatillos, fresh
  • 3
    green chiles, roasted and chopped
  • 1/2 c
    apple juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    cilantro, fresh and chopped

How to Make Chicken In Salsa Verde

Step-by-Step

  1. Spray a non-stick skillet with vegetable cooking spray.
  2. Heat oil and saute chicken then add onion and garlic, stirring until limp.
  3. Add remaining ingredients.
  4. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer about 15 minutes.
  5. NOTE: May substitute 12 ounces of canned tomatillos if you don't have fresh.
