Ingredients
- FOR THE MARINADE
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 teaspoons shaoxing wine or dry sherry
- 1 egg white
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 3 boneless chicken thighs cut into pieces
- DISH
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 4 stalks scallions chopped
- 2 tablespoons shaoxing wine
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- cooked noodles or rice for serving
- crushed peanuts for topping
How To Make chicken in hoisin sauce gravy

Step 1Mix the ingredients for the marinade together. Add the chicken pieces and let marinate for 2 hours. Remove the chicken from the marinade and place in a strainer. Don't rinse just let it drain for about 10 minutes.

Step 2Heat the oil in a wok. Add the garlic and scallions. Stir fry about 30 seconds at the chicken about 4 minutes. Splash in the wine and let most evaporate. Stir in the hoisin sauce and brown sugar. Let cook about 5 more minutes.

Step 3Serve over rice or noodles garnished with chopped peanuts
