Ingredients

  • 4 bone in skin on chicken thighs
  • - salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • AMBER ALE SAUCE
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup amber ale
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 tablespoons cold butter
  • 1 teaspoon cider vinegar
  • - salt and pepper

How To Make chicken in amber ale sauce

  • Step 1
    Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Add oil to a large pan and add the chicken, and cook for 20 minutes. Turning often.
  • Step 2
    Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside. Add the onion and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add the chicken stock, brown sugar, and ale. Bring to a boil. Add the thyme and bay leaf. Cook until reduced by half.
  • Step 4
    Whisk in the butter one tablespoon at a time. Stir in the vinegar.
  • Step 5
    Add the chicken back and remove the bay leaf. Cook five more minutes. Serve the chicken with the sauce.
