This recipe was created and handed down to me by my Mother-in-law, Mary Ward. Chicken Goop is what my husband called it as a young child. Mary just calls it Crock Pot Chicken. Either way you call it, it's still good!

Ingredients

  • 8-12
    boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 1 medium
    onion, sliced and separated into rings
  • 8 oz
    canned mushroom stems & pieces, drained
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 jar(s)
    chicken gravy
  • ·
    pam cooking oil spray
  • ·
    oregano, to taste
  • ·
    garlic powder, to taste
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • ·
    lawry's seasoning salt, to taste

How to Make Chicken Goop

Step-by-Step

  1. Lightly spray pan with Pam. Sprinkle chicken with seasoning salt. Brown chicken pieces quickly over medium-high heat. Drain on paper towel. In Crockpot, layer pieces of chicken until bottom is covered without overcrowding. Cover with some of mushrooms, onion rings, a generous pinch of oregano, and a light sprinkle of garlic powder. Continue layering of chicken, mushrooms, and onions. Mix soup, gravy, and half cup water. Pour over layers. Cook on low 5-6 hours.
