chicken & dumplings
I never really cared for my mothers' chicken and dumplings, so I decided to make my own. I use the crock pot and just make the dumplings 35 minutes before serving. My dad loves it!

Ingredients
- 4 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 2 teaspoons ground sea salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 6 - mini bell peppers, chopped
- 2 stalks celery
- 3 medium carrots
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh savory
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme
- 1 can cream of celery soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups bisquick
- 1/2 cup milk plus 1 tbsp
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
How To Make chicken & dumplings

Step 1Start by cleaning and chopping the mini peppers. Clean celery and cut into 1" diagonal pieces. Peel carrots and cut into 1/2" chunks. Chop basil, savory and thyme and mix with vegetables. Set aside.

Step 2In a small bowl, mix together soup and sour cream.

Step 3Mix salt, pepper and poultry seasoning in a small bow; set aside. Clean chicken breasts and pat dry with a paper towel. Sprinkle salt mixture on chicken breasts and rub in. Place chicken breasts in 6 qt. crock pot, pour vegetables over chicken. Now spread soup mixture over top and cover. Cook on low for 7 hrs.

Step 4Right before chicken is done, mix Bisquik, milk and parsley.

Step 5Place dough by the spoonful over chicken; cover. Turn crock pot to HI and cook for 35 minutes.
