This is one of the first meals my husband cooked for me.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breaast halves, boned and skinned
  • 1 tablespoon dijon syle mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme, leaves crushed
  • 4 ounces lean cooked ham
  • 2 slices light salted swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
  • 4 teaspoons melted light margarine

How To Make chicken cordon bleu

  • Step 1
    Place chicken between2 pieces of waxed paper. Pound to 1/4 inch thickness. Spread mustard evenly down center of each breast. Sprinkle with thyme.
  • Step 2
    Top with ham and 1/2 sliced cheese. Roll up, jelly roll style, tucking in sides of ham and chicken to seal.Secure with skewers.
  • Step 3
    Combine bread crumbs and parmesian cheese in shallow dish. Brush each chicken wwith melted margarine and roll in crumb mixture.
  • Step 4
    Place in a 9X9 baking dish. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350, bake 20-25 or until chicken is tender. Remove skewers
