This is really good.the combination of herbs and spices makes chicken taste really yummy.This recipe is from a set of two Cookbooks I bought over 35 years ago.There called"Make A Mix Cookery."&More Make a Mix Cookery".Give this a try,the story with the recipe says"Better than your favorite restaurant makes".its better than Shake & Bake.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
  • 1 tablespoon ground oregano
  • 1 tablespoon ground margoram
  • 1 tablespoon ground thyme
  • 2 teaspoons ground rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 tablespoon celery salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1 tablespoon paprika

How To Make chicken coating mix

  • Step 1
    Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl until evenly distributed. Spoon mixture into a small airtight container.Label.Store in a cool dry place. Use within 6 months.Makes about 1/2 cup of Mix.

    Oven Fried Chicken:1 1/2 tsp. Chicken Coating mix,3/4 cup all-purpose flour,1/4cup instant nonfat dry milk,2 tsp.sugar,1 tsp. baking powder,1/2 tsp.salt,2/3 cup hot water,2 Tblsp. vegatable oil. 1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) fryer chicken cut up.
  • Step 3
    Preheat oven to 425 degrees.Combine all ingredients except chicken in a medium bowl.Blend well.Dip chicken pieces in batter and place on baking sheet.Bake uncovered 40 to 50 minutes,until golden brown and tender.Or if desired dip chicken in batter then fry in hot oil.
