Chicken Cheddar Pasta

Christine Fernandez

Just finished making this recipe for my family. Although there was a bit of multi tasking while preparing and cooking, it was very good. I served this dish with Pillsbury bread sticks. Enjoy!

1lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 teaspoon dried mustard
1 tablespoon thyme
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tbsp olive oil

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1/2 cup diced onion
1/4 cup white wine
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
8 ounces white cheddar cheese (grated)
2 cups milk
1 tsp oregano
pinch red pepper flake

How to Make Chicken Cheddar Pasta

  • 1In a bowl mix together mustard, thyme, salt and pepper. Sprinkleover both sides of the chicken breasts. Heat oil in a skillet. Add chicken breasts and cook until golden brown. Remove from the pan and slice into strips.
  • 2Cook pasta according to package directions. When pasta is cooked melt the butter in a skillet. Add flour and mix well with the butter to combine. Add wine, garlic, onion, and Dijon mustard. Cook about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low and slowly add milk while stirring. Cook until the mixture begins to thicken. Add cheese and stir it into the sauce until it has melted.
  • 3Drain noodles and transfer them to a large serving bowl. Mix in cheddar sauce, add the chicken and toss until well combined.
