This was Made By a lady who was a friend of my Mom's.She made it for her when she was sick and it was passed down to us. Every time i make it i have to make 2 big pans. My Family loves it

lg boneless skinless chicken breast
container (med) sour cream
sleeves of ritz crackers
1 stick
butter, melted
1 can(s)
family size cream of chicken soup
add any seasonings you want that you like

How to Make Chicken Casserole


  • 1Put the chicken in a large pot and add any seasonings you want, I usually add garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt. add enough water to cover chicken bring to a boil and turn down to med ,Let it cook until done move the chicken around so it don't stick. When it is done take out and let cool. when it is cooled break into bite size pieces and place into a 13x9 inch pan.
  • 2In a lg bowl mix sour cream and Cream of chicken soup together mix well you can add seasonings to this to if you like.Set aside. in a saucepan melt the butter and add crushed Ritz crackers and coat them with the butter
  • 3Set aside. Pour the sour cream and soup mixture over the chicken and top with crackers. Bake at 350 for 30 min or until crackers are golden brown, take out and let set for 10 min, I serve it with candied Carrots
