This is the first dinner I made for my husband (the first week we met). After almost 13 years of marriage, it is still one of his favorites. I've seen a lot of variations of this same recipe. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 - boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 16 ounces sour cream
  • 2 boxes stuffing mix (like stove top)
  • 1 stick butter, (for stuffing mix)

How To Make chicken casserole

  • Step 1
Cook chicken in boiling water approximately 20 minutes until cooked through. Cut into bite size pieces or shred. (You can use a cooked chicken from the deli and just remove from the bone and shred for quicker prep time.

Prepare stuffing mix as directed on the package.
  • Step 3
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Put cooked, shredded chicken in bottom of a 13 X 9 baking dish.
  • Step 4
In a medium mixing bowl combine the 2 cans of soup and the sour cream. Spread this evenly over the cooked chicken layer.
  • Step 5
Spread the cooked stuffing mix evenly over the sour cream layer.
  • Step 6
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until hot and bubbly.
