My sister made this for me when I brought my daughter home from the hospital ;-) This has been one of our favorites for the past 20 years.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut up into pieces
  • 1 - large onion, chopped
  • 1 - small green pepper, chopped
  • 3 - stalks celery, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 14 1/2 ounces can whole tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • few dash italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup rose wine
  • 1 pound linguini

How To Make chicken cacciatore

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients into a large bowl and mix well. Pour into crockpot, cook for 7 to 8 hours on low.
  • Step 2
    Bring large pot of water to boil, cook linguini to al dente.
  • Step 3
    Spoon chicken cacciatore over pasta, sprinkle with freshly garmesan cheese, and serve with a loaf of crusty bread.
