Ingredients For chicken cacciatore

  • 1/-4 c
    flour
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 3 lb
    skinned frying chicken pieces
  • 3 Tbsp
    oil
  • 1
    sliced, small onion
  • 1
    sliced, small green pepper
  • 1 c
    sliced, fresh mushrooms or canned
  • 1-3/4 c
    (can 15 ounce) whole peeled tomatoes and juice)
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1
    crushed garlic clove
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried rosemary (optional)
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano leaves
  • 2/3 c
    (6 ounce can) tomato paste

How To Make chicken cacciatore

  • 1
    Combine flour, 1/2 tsp. salt and pepper. Coat chicken pieces with flour mixture.

    Brown chicken in oil in large skillet. Place onion, green pepper and mushroom slices on top of chicken.

    Cut up tomatoes. Combine tomatoes and juice with remaining ingredients.

    Pour over chicken and vegetables. Cover, heat to boiling. Reduce heat; boil gently 45 minutes or until chicken is tender.
