Whats not to like about this? It is easy and delicious. I wrote this recipe down a while back and found it in my stack of papers. I would write recipes down when I saw one I liked but at the time never thought to write down where or who it came from. At the time it didn't matter, I was just interested in making them, not knowing then about internet sharing. :) The picture I got from Marie Calendars as that is how it does look except I don't add the lemon slices on top.

prep time 15 Min
cook time 5 Hr
method Slow Cooker Crock Pot
yield 4 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 - carton of sliced mushrooms
  • 4 - boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 - stick of butter
  • 1 - packet of zesty italian dressing mix
  • 4 ounces onion and chive cream cheese
  • 1 - can cream of mushroom soup
  • 7 ounces chicken broth, (1/2 of a can)
  • 1 - jar of capers, drained
  • - angel hair pasta

How To Make chicken and mushroom pasta

  • Step 1
Place the chicken in a fry pan with oil and just brown the chicken a little. Do not cook too long. You don't have to do this step but I like to when I cook meat in a slow cooker just to give the meat color and I just think it tastes better.
  • Step 2
Place mushrooms in the bottom of the crock-pot. Place chicken breasts on top of the mushrooms.
  • Step 3
In a sauce pan melt butter, dressing, soups and cream cheese together and pour over the chicken. Top with capers. Cook on low for 5 hours.
  • Step 4
20 minutes before you eat, cook pasta according to directions on the package and serve chicken and sauce over the pasta.
