1Place chicken,onion,celery, carrots, garlic, thyme,parsley,bouillon cubes and pepper in a large pan. Cover with cold water. Simmer 1 hour or until chicken is tender. Drain,removed chicken,debone,skin and cut into large pieces. Set aside.
Add carrots,onions and garlic to broth,simmer until carrots are tender. Taste for salt,may need a bit ,but bouillon cubes are salty.
Combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening and add milk until a soft dough forms. Roll out on a lightly floured board,roll thin,cut into strips,drop the strips into the simmering broth ,simmer 10 mins. uncovered. Add chicken pieces, cover and heat 5 mins. Sprinkle with parsley.
