chicken and dumplings

This is an easy recipe. Given to me by my mother, and it is a winter staple in our house.

Ingredients

  • 4 - chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 3 cans small pilsbury biscuits

How To Make chicken and dumplings

  • Step 1
    Stew chicken in water 2" above chicken until done. Reduce heat to medium. Remove chicken to cutting board and shred.
  • Step 2
    Dip out foam from chicken water and add butter, milk, cream cheese, and water.
  • Step 3
    Stir until melted and well blended.
  • Step 4
    Add pinches of biscuits. (Note: usually 1 small biscuit quartered is what I do)
  • Step 5
    Cook until biscuits are done (Approx. 10 minutes), add salt and pepper to taste and add shredded chicken. Stir and enjoy!
