Looking for a recipe for this? I know Sandy Mika was and found one in my mom's old cookbook from '1967' .

I also remember my mom making this and I always loved it as well.

Stove Top


  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • ·
    dash of white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 c
    milk or diluted evaporated milk
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 c
    cooked chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2
    green olives
  • 1
    pimento, chopped

How to Make Chicken A' LA King


  1. Melt butter in top of double boiler, blend in flour, add pepper, salt and paprika.
  2. Add milk and cream gradually, stirring constantly until thickened.
    Beat well. Add chicken, olives and pimento.
  3. Cook for 15 minutes and serve on toast or baking powder biscuit , in Patty Shells or Bread or Toast or Croustades.
  4. Variations:

    Add 1 Tablespoon sherry.

    Omit olives. Add 1/2 cup mushrooms and 1 tablespoon chopped green pepper.
    Peas, carrots or corn may also be added.
    Could use turkey, tuna, or rotisserie chicken could be used as well.
