Fried chicken is always a winner in my house. This little treasure of a recipe is my own original recipe taken one further step and made healthier by Oven Baking..Enjoy!

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 -3 pound chicken pieces
- CHICKEN SEASONING - MIX AND SET ASIDE
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- CHICKEN WASH
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup mild red pepper or hot sauce - i use valentina brand
- CHICKEN COATING
- 1 1/2 cups self rising flour
- 3 teaspoons old bay seasoning
- 2 teaspoons salt
How To Make cheli's oven baked southern "fried" chicken

Step 1Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Season the chicken well on all sides with the seasoning mix. In one medium and 'open' bowl, beat the milk into the eggs. Add the hot sauce and beat again.

Step 2In a second medium 'open' bowl, mix the coating ingredients well.

Step 3Dip the seasoned chicken into the wash making sure that all of the chicken is well coated-then immediately move it to the coating bowl. Dredge the chicken and rotate it so that it is well covered. If desired, u may redip the piece in the wash and recoat for a thicker coating.

Step 4Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, then turn and bake for 15 more minutes. Enjoy!
