My family loves breaded chicken dishes,and how can you go wrong with cheese, ham and pesto in a flavorful breading? Trust me! You can't! I was so happy with this chicken that I had my neighbor try it and she LOVED it! Thanks, Melanie!

chicken breast, pounded to 1/4" thickness
3 c
swiss cheese, grated
12-16 slice
deli ham
4-6 tsp
prepared pesto
1/4 tsp
garlic salt
olive oil, extra virgin


1/2 c
panko bread crumbs
1/4 c
italian bread crumbs
1/4 c
corn starch
1/4 c
instant potato flakes, dry ( me)
1/4 c
parmesan cheese, grated
1 tsp
italian seasoning

How to Make Cheesy Ham & Pesto Stuffed Chicken~Robynne


  • 1Sprinkle chicken breasts with garlic salt. Place 3 or 4 slices of ham on each breast. Spread 1-2 teaspoons of pesto over ham and top with Swiss cheese. Fold chicken in half like a book. Set aside.
  • 2To make coating combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly. Carefully coat chicken with, being sure not to lose any of the yummy stuffing.
    Heat oven to 300 degrees.
  • 3In a large skillet, heat olive oil on medium heat and saute chicken on each side until nicely brown. Don't worry if all the cheese is not melted. Transfer chicken to a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted and chicken is cooked through.
