This quick casserole recipe is an easy dinner for a busy household. Ritz crackers are crumbled atop creamy soup & melted cheese. Additional cabbage makes this casserole affordable & extra nutritious!

Ingredients

  • 1 small cabbage, coarsely chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • - salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup or cream of chicken soup
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 sleeve - ritz crackers, finely crushed

How To Make cheesy ritz cabbage casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Place cabbage into a casserole dish, sprinkle the onions over top of the cabbage.
  • Step 3
    Melt 1/2 stick of butter & pour over the cabbage. Sprinkle with salt & pepper.
  • Step 4
    In a small bowl, mix soup & mayonnaise & spread over the cabbage mixture.
  • Step 5
    Melt the other 1/2 stick of butter & mix with the grated cheese & crushed crackers spread over top of casserole.
  • Step 6
    Bake for about 45 minutes or until top is brown & inside is bubbly.
