Ingredients

  • 4 large onions, cut into rings
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, grated
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 4 bone in chicken thighs
  • 1 cup white wine

How To Make charred onion chicken

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Place a cast iron or oven-ready pan and add a little olive oil.
  • Step 2
    Add the onions, ginger, and garlic with a little salt and pepper. Saute the onions for about 7 minutes. Remove the onions to a plate and set aside.
  • Step 3
    Add a little more olive oil to the pan and brown the chicken skin side down. Season with salt and brown for 7 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Turn the chicken and top with the onions. Pour the wine around the sides of the chicken.
  • Step 5
    Place in the oven and bake for about 50 to 60 minutes. Enjoy.
