green onion, minced
1 c
long grain rice, uncooked
1 c
chicken broth
1 c
1.5 tsp
1/4 tsp
1/2 tsp
2 c
cooked chicken, diced
1/4 c
pimiento strips
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1 tsp
prepared mustard

How to Make Charleston Chicken & Rice


  • 1Heat oil in wok.
  • 2Add green onion and stir fry until soft.
  • 3Stir in rice until grains are coated with oil.
  • 4Pour in broth and water.
  • 5Add paprika, pepper and salt.
  • 6Stir only until blended.
  • 7Bring to a boil cover and reduce heat.
  • 8Simmer until rice is tender and almost all liquid has been absorbed.
  • 9Add chicken and pimiento.
  • 10Stir gently to blend.
  • 11Remove wok from heat and let stand, covered for about 10 minutes.
  • 12Stir in worcestershire sauce with mustard.
  • 13If necessary return work to low heat.
  • 14Toss and stir gently with a fork until reheated.
