I do believe I've created a winner! This quick & easy chicken was awesome! I had some cooking molasses and wondered what it would taste like in my five spice chicken sauce. Well, my guests raved over it! It was definitely finger lickin' good! I couldn't grill it quick enough, as it went as quick as I plated it! LOL Enjoy!

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons honey

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes - optional

How To Make ~ cass's finger lickin' five spice chicken ~

  • Step 1
Sprinkle washed and dried chicken with 1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon of five spice, one side only, salt and pepper evenly.
  • Step 2
In a small bowl, whisk together the molasses, honey, 1 tsp five spice, ketchup, soy sauce, red pepper flakes and salt.
  • Step 3
Once grill is hot. I spray the chicken on both sides with olive oil cooking spray. ''Place chicken thighs on hot grill and cook on one side for 5 - 6 minutes, depending how thick chicken is - maybe longer. Turn to other side and continue cooking. I just keep turning until cooked, about every few minutes, so not to burn.
  • Step 4
Once cooked, brush each piece with sauce, close lid on grill for about 1 minute - turn chicken and baste other side. Close lid again and cook another minute or until looks good and sticky.
  • Step 5
Remove from grill to a platter and serve immediately. It was delicious! I will be making this often, even in my oven.
