california oven-fried chicken
This is so easy and delicious, I have made it many times over the years. Recipe came from a woman at the First Congregational Church in NH So easy I am sure many of you have made it as well. In this picture you can see I just made two breast for my husband and myself. I have cut up a whole chicken and baked the pieces.

Serves 6 to 8
Ingredients
- 1 - frying chicken, cut into 8 pieces
- 1 stick melted butter
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups dry bread crumbs or finely crushed cornflakes
- I HAVE USED CRUSHED FRENCH FRIED ONIONS CRUSHED IN WITH THE BREAD CRUMBS

Step 11. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Dip the chicken pieces in the melted butter, then shake them in a paper bag containing the garlic powder, paprika, thyme, salt, and crumbs or cornflakes.

Step 22. Place the chicken skin side up in a lightly greased 9x13" baking dish, and bake for 50 minutes or until done.

Step 3Another great idea with this recipe is we take it to the beach or a picnic, with cole slaw or potato salad !!
