I came up with this dish one day while I was looking in the pantry. There on the shelf was a jar of Paul Newman's Vodka Sauce and my mind started to create. I had taken some chicken out of the freezer and the crockpot out. I also spotted a can of Snappy Tom mix. Enjoy and let me know what you think. It can also be cooked in a 9x13 baking dish in the oven at 400 degrees for and hour. Enjoy and letme know what you think.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot


  • 2-3 lb
    of your favorite chicken pieces
  • 4-5 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 4 clove
    minced garlic
  • 3/4 c
    chopped celery
  • 1/2 c
    carrot, shredded
  • 1 jar(s)
    button mushroom
  • i c
    pearl onions
  • 1 c
    spicy tomato juice
  • 2 tsp
    crushed red pepper or to taste (optional)
  • 1 jar(s)
    paul newman's vodka sauce

How to Make Butch's Drunken Chicken


  1. Wash the chicken,then salt and pepper it. Place in a covered bowl in the fridge for 45 minutes to an hour
  2. Place enough tomoato juice to cover the bottom of the crockpot
  3. mix the veggies in a bowl and set aside
  4. Take your chicken out and brown it in the olive oil and 2 of the cloves of garlic
  5. layer the chicken and veggies in the crockpot
  6. stir the remaining garlic and red pepper in the pasta sauce and pour over chicken.
  7. cook on high for one hour then lower the crockpot to low and cook for 6 to 8 hours. Serve over rice or your favorite pasta.
