2 tsp
onion powder
1 tsp
garlic powder
3/4 tsp
oregano, dried
3/4 tsp
thyme, dried
1/2 tsp
cayenne pepper
2 Tbsp
butter, melted
boneless skinless chicken breasts

How to Make Blackened Chicken


  • 1In small bowl, combine first 8 ingredients, set aside.
  • 2Place chicken breasts between sheets of plastic wrap (or in a large plastic food storage bag), and pound to even the thickness (about 1/2 inch or a little less).
  • 3Brush one side of chicken breasts with half of the melted butter and sprinkle with half the seasoning mixture. Repeat on other side of chicken breasts.
  • 4Heat a large skillet over med-high heat. Cook chicken about 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
