We love fried rice! This is a quick and easy version.

With simple ingredients and a few easy steps, you can make the best fried rice. Onions and garlic are cooked in sesame oil and soak up the sesame flavor. Peas and carrots add a touch of sweetness and another layer of flavor. We opted for chicken when testing. But add your favorite protein, and you have a complete meal. A trick to make delicious fried rice is to add the rice while the egg is slightly wet. We'll be making this easy fried rice recipe again and again.

Ingredients
- 4 cups rice, prepared
- 1/2 pound boneless chicken breast, cooked and cut into bite-size pieces or use the same amount of medium-size shrimp cooked
- 1 cup peas and carrots, frozen
- 1 medium white onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce

We used classic jasmine rice for this recipe. 2 cups of dry rice is about 4 cups cooked.

Step 1Prepare rice according to package instructions to yield 4 cups of cooked rice.

Step 2Heat sesame oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Add onion, garlic, peas, and carrots. Stir fry until tender.

Step 3Crack eggs into pan. Scramble, mixing throughout vegetables.

Step 4Add rice, chicken or shrimp (or both), and soy sauce to the pan.
