I was sitting in my kitchen one day and decided to make up a recipe with what was on hand. It was a hit.

  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef or turkey/chicken
  • 1 c
    soft bread crumbs
  • 1 medium
    onion, chopped fine
  • 1/2 c
    evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • 2 1/2 c
    cooked rice
  • 1 c
    tomato soup
  • 3/4 c
    grated cheese

How to Make Beef Pie


  1. Combine cooked meat, bread crumbs, onion, egg, milk and seasoning. Mix well.
  2. Press into a 9 inch pie plate, building up the edge.
  3. Combine rice, soup and 1/2 cup cheese. Turn into pie shell.
  4. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes
  5. Sprinkle remaining cheese and continue to bake another 5 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve.
