bbq "un-fried" chicken

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce, your favorite (i use sweet baby ray's)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon tabasco hot sauce
  • 1 - 9 oz. packages barbecue potato chips, finely crushed (about 4 c)
  • 5 pounds chicken pieces (i use breasts & thighs)

How To Make bbq "un-fried" chicken

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line jellyroll with foil; top with rack.
  • Step 2
    In large bowl, mix 1/2 C flour & paprika.
  • Step 3
    In seperate bowl, mix bbq sauce, milk & tabasco.
  • Step 4
    In another bowl, stir together chips & remaining 1/4 C flour.
  • Step 5
    Coat chicken, one piece at a time, in flour mixture, shaking off excess, then sauce mixture & chip mixture. Place on rack in pan.
  • Step 6
    Bake until chicken is no longer pink near bones, about 50 minutes. If chicken starts to brown too quickly, cover lightly with foil. Remove foil for last 5 minutes of cooking to crisp coating.
