This little number is from a Hollywood Cookbook. Didn't even know they knew how to cook in Hollywood. (I'm so bad!)

1 cup catsup
1/4 cup sherry vinegar
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
two chickens, each cut into six pieces, skin on
3 pounds vidalia onions, sliced thin
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme

1Mix catsup, vinegar, and pepper. Pour it over chicken pieces and allow to marinate overnight. Preheat oven to 325°.
2Divide onions evenly between two roasting pans. Transfer chicken pieces on top of the onions, laying chicken skin side up and in one layer. Cover with any remaining marinade.
3Cook for one hour and 15 minutes, and then increase heat to 475° and cook for another five minutes.
Serves 12, from Hollywood cookbook
