A quick stirfry to crispen the chicken, then baked with a sauce that makes it sweet and tasty-great with fried or steamed rice

Ingredients

  • CHICKEN
  • 1/4 cup vegetable or peanut oil
  • 3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast meat, cubed
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 3 - eggs, beaten
  • SAUCE
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1/4 cup teriyaaki sauce
  • 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup prepared orange juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

How To Make baked honey chicken

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    Heat wok or large nonstick skillet on medium high heat and add oil.
  • Step 3
    Dip 8 chicken cubes in cornstarch, then in egg. Cook in oil in pan, stirring, 1-2 minutes on each side. Remove to prepared baking dish. The chicken will finish cooking in the oven.
  • Step 4
    Repeat steps until all chicken is cooked.
  • Step 5
    In a medium bowl, whisk sauce ingredients and pour over chicken; Stir.
  • Step 6
    Bake, uncovered, 40 minutes, stirring every 10-15 minutes. Serve with rice.
