Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds chicken, whole
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 tablespoon onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced

How To Make baked chicken with herbs

  • Step 1
    Cut chicken into pieces; cut each breast half into halves and remove skin.
  • Step 2
    Heat butter and oil in rectangular pan 13x9x2 inches in 375 oven until butter is melted.
  • Step 3
    Stir in remaining ingredients except chicken.
  • Step 4
    Place chicken, meaty side down, in pan, turning to coat with herb mixture.
  • Step 5
    Cook uncovered 30 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Turn chicken; cook until thickest pieces are done, about 30 minutes longer.
