Ingredients
- 1/2 cup flour
- 3 pounds chicken, cut up
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 4 - garlic cloves, minced
- 2 - green bell peppers, chopped
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
How To Make baked chicken cacciatora

Step 1Place flour in a paper bag; shake chicken pieces in flour to coat.

Step 2In a large frying pan, heat oil.

Step 3Add chicken and cook, turning, until browned, about 10 minutes.

Step 4Remove to a 13x9x2 baking dish.

Step 5While chicken is browning, mix tomato sauce, wine, oregano, salt and pepper in a small bowl.

Step 6Add garlic to pan drippings and saute 1 minute.

Step 7Add bell peppers and mushrooms; cook 5 minutes.

Step 8Stir in tomato sauce mixture.

Step 9Pour over chicken.

Step 10Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 45 minutes, until chicken is tender.

Step 11Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
