My daughter and I were playing mad scientist in the kitchen and came up with this nice surprise.
This didn't come out as hot as we were hoping for, so next time we may add red pepper flakes to the coating.
These would be good dipped in hot sauce, or ketchup, or maybe a Hoisen sauce. (any vinegar or other acid based sauce)

How To Make atomic popcorn chicken
Cut up chicken into bite size pieces. Beat egg and add hot sauce. Place chicken bites into the mix and refrigerate for at least an hour.
In a large plastic bag or closed container like tupperware, add the flour and rest of ingredients except for the salt. Shake to mix ingredients well.
Add the chicken pieces to the flour mixture and shake the container to coat each piece.
Fry the chicken at 400 until deep golden color. (test to be sure they are completely cooked) Drain in a strainer (will keep crispiness) Sprinkle on salt and toss well.
