A delicious citrus chicken using fresh fruit & juices. Terrific when served with rice.

Ingredients

  • SAUCE
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons lite soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh or ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced or garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • CHICKEN TENDERS
  • - flour, salt &pepper & oil

How To Make asian orange & lemon chicken

  • Step 1
    In a non-metal bowl, combine sauce ingredience EXCEPT cornstarch & 2 Tbsp water.
  • Step 2
    Dust chicken pcs. with flour, salt & pepper. Lightly brown. Remove from pan. Add sauce and bring it to a medium boil.
  • Step 3
    Mix cornstarch & 2 Tbsp.of water into a slurry.
  • Step 4
    Mix slurry into boiling sauce & stir constantly to thicken. When thickened add chicken back in and lower heat. Cook until chicken is done stirring often. PS: chicken tenders cook quickly. This last step should only be about 5 minutes. Serve with rice.
