chicken breast, halves, boneless and skinless, diced
1/2 c
mayonnaise
1/2 c
yogurt, plain
1 can(s)
cream of mushroom soup
2 c
chicken broth
3/4 Tbsp
white pepper
1 Tbsp
salt
2 Tbsp
lemon juice
3 Tbsp
chopped onion
8 oz
sliced water chestnuts , drained
4 c
cooked rice
1 c
chopped celery
2/3 c
butter
1 1/2 c
almonds, slivered
3 c
corn flake cereal, crushed

How to Make Almond Chicken Casserole

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix the chicken, mayonnaise, yogurt, soup, broth, pepper, salt, lemon juice, onion, rice, water chestnuts, 1 cup almonds and celery together.
  • 2Put into a large buttered casserole dish.
  • 3Mix 1/2 cup almonds, the butter, and the corn flakes together and top the casserole with this mixture.
  • 4Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 35-45 minutes.
  • 5NOTE: This dish refrigerates well and freezes well so it can be made ahead and stored.
