This new lasagna recipe I created with a mix of Grill Mates' Sweet and Tangy seasoning. The cheese sauce on the lasagna was good.

Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 6 tablespoons sweet and tangy seasoning, divided
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium purple onion, peeled and chopped
  • 1 medium yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 2 cans condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 package Italian salad dressing mix
  • 1 package cottage cheese
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups crumbled cooked bacon, divided
  • 2 cups shredded Gouda cheese, divided

How To Make sweet and tangy lasagna

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in the boiling water and add 1 tablespoon sweet and tangy seasoning, stirring occasionally, until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 8 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water.
  • Step 3
    Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until evenly browned and no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Step 4
    Add chopped purple onion, sliced yellow and red bell peppers, and 2 tablespoons sweet and tangy seasoning; stir well until blended. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Step 5
    In a medium bowl, combine half and half, soups, cream cheese, Italian salad dressing mix, and 2 tablespoons sweet and tangy seasoning; mix until blended. Set aside.
  • Step 6
    In another medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese,beaten eggs, sour cream, and remaining sweet and tangy seasoning; whisk together with a fork until blended.
  • Step 7
    Place 3 cooked lasagna noodles into a 9x13-inch glass baking dish. Spoon half of the beef mixture over the lasagna noodles.
  • Step 8
    Add half of the cheese sauce mixture all over the beef mixture. Spoon half the ricotta cheese mixture on the beef and sauce mixture.
  • Step 9
    Top with crumbled cooked bacon and sprinkle with 1 cup shredded Gouda cheese. Repeat the layers. Sprinkle the remaining shredded Gouda cheese on top.
  • Step 10
    Bake for 30 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and cheese is melted. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
