This lighter version of a spaghetti pie uses jarred spaghetti sauce, but no pasta.

  • 2 tablespoons Italian dry bread crumbs
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (not Greek)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1 package frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1/2 cup jarred marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese

How To Make spaghetti sauce spinach ricotta pie

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Using cooking spray, prepare a 9-inch pie dish. Dust the dish with bread crumbs on the bottom and sides.
  • Step 2
    Combine ricotta, egg whites, yogurt, flour, and spices - mix well.
  • Step 3
    Blend in the spinach mixture and spread it evenly into the prepared dish.
  • Step 4
    Spread marinara sauce over the top of the spinach mixture.
  • Step 5
    Top with mozzarella cheese and sprinkle the Parmesan on top.
  • Step 6
    Bake pie for approximately 45 minutes at 375 degrees - until cheese is melted and is slightly browned.
