Ingredients For spaghetti bake

  • 1/2-1 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    green bell pepper, chopped (optional) *can use red bell pepper if preferred
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 can
    28-oz. can whole tomatoes (with liquid) crushed up
  • 1/2 -3/4 c
    sauteed mushrooms in butter and drained well (can substitute jarred mushrooms if preferred)
  • 1 can
    small can sliced black olives
  • 2 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 1 pkg
    ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 12 oz
    cooked spaghetti
  • 2 c
    sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 1/4 c
    parmesan cheese (grated)

How To Make spaghetti bake

  • 1
    Saute the onion, peppers (if using) and fresh mushrooms in butter until soft. Add ground beef and cook until no longer pink.

    Add crushed tomatoes, olives and oregano. If adding jarred mushrooms - add now.

    Place half of the spaghetti in a greased baking dish. Top with half of the tomato mixture. Sprinkle with half the cheddar cheese. Repeat a second layer - noodles, tomatoes and cheese.

    Mix soup and water until smooth and thoroughly mixed. Pour soup mixture over the casserole and top with parmesan cheese.

    Bake casserole (uncovered) at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned on top.
