This is one of those recipes I made up when we were out of anything to have for dinner and no meat except the bacon left in fridge! Directions I gave said quarter but Slices do just as well and sometimes fit into your baking dish better. It makes it's own juices so no need to add any liquid.

prep time 20 Min
cook time 45 Min
method Bake
yield 3 or 4 if you add the rolls and salad

Ingredients

  • 30 slices squash, fresh
  • 10 slices bacon, uncooked
  • 1 onion
  • 2 pinches salt and pepper
  • 2 pinches garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • SOB IS A SIMPLE AND CHEAP CASSEROLE

How To Make sob

  • Step 1
spray glass backing dish (one with lid)
  • Step 2
Cut Bacon,Squash, and Onion into quarters.
  • Step 3
Layer all three into baking dish and add seasonings
  • Step 4
Bake at 400 degrees for 45 min (time could vary between ovens by about 5 min either way)
  • Step 5
Serve with warm rolls and you can always add a salad but my family likes this in the winter with just the rolls.
