For the hot dog fans in Seattle, I created this new casserole recipe filled with ingredients like sauteed banana peppers, vidalia onion, cream cheese, jalapenos, and sliced kielbasa sausage.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 banana peppers, sliced
  • 1 medium vidalia sweet onion, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons hamburger seasoning,divided
  • 3 tablespoons pickled jalapeno liquids
  • 1/2 cup sriracha
  • 1 pound dry ziti pasta
  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced diagonally
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces monterey jack cheese, shredded and divided
  • 1 cup crumbled cooked bacon
  • 1 cup pickled jalapeno slices

How To Make seattle dog casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Step 3
    Heat olive oil in a large,deep skillet over medium-low heat, add the sliced banana peppers and sliced vidalia onion. Saute for 5 minutes, stir in 1 tablespoon hamburger seasoning,jalapeno liquids and sriracha, and saute again for 3 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Put them in a large plate and set aside.
  • Step 5
    Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add ziti pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • Step 6
    In a same skillet over medium-high heat, cook sausage in canola oil until browned on both sides, for 5 minutes. Season with red pepper flakes and remaining hamburger seasoning.
  • Step 7
    In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese and crumbled bacon and mix it until blended; set aside.
  • Step 8
    In a large bowl, combine ziti pasta, banana pepper/onion mixture, and sausage and cream cheese mixture; mix well. Pour into prepared baking dish. Topped with jalapeno slices and sprinkle with remaining shredded monterey jack cheese.
  • Step 9
    Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake 10 to 15 minutes more, or until the top is golden.
