Ingredients
- 1 pound sausage
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more to taste)
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
- 1/2 tablespoon basil, dried (up to 1 t - to taste)
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 bag egg noodles, cooked
- 2 slices bread
- 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
How To Make sausage noodle casserole

Step 1I cooked sausage and onions in skillet. While cooking this I sprinkled on these ingredients: red pepper flakes, pepper, salt, paprika, ginger, and nutmeg. I cooked until sausage was browned and onions tender.

Step 2Then I added 1 teaspoon minced garlic (from a jar), 2 Tablespoons parsley, and a half Tablespoon up to 1 Tablespoon of dried basil, stirring to cook for a few seconds.

Step 3I then added ¼ cup flour to make a roux and cook for at least 2 or 3 minutes to cook out the raw taste of the flour. Then I added two cups of milk and a ¼ cup water. I cooked this until bubbly and beginning to thicken (WHICH TOOK ME SEVEN MINUTES). Then I added the COOKED egg noodles, stirring to combine. I poured the entire mixture into a buttered casserole dish (8x8).

Step 4For the topping: In a med bowl I crumbled up two pieces of bread, added ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese and mixed these together then poured 3 Tablespoons melted butter over the bread and parmesan cheese and mixed well. I sprinkled this over the casserole.

Step 5I put the casserole in a 400° pre-heated oven for about 30 minutes or until it is golden brown on top.
