Ingredients

  • 2 cups drained sauerkraut
  • 1/4 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 - tomato, cut in thin slices
  • 5 tablespoons 1000 island dressing
  • 3/4 pound thinly sliced corned beef or pastrami
  • 4-5 - slices swiss cheese or 1/2 cup shredded
  • 2 - slices deli rye bread processed into soft crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

How To Make reuben casserole

  • Step 1
    Put drained sauerkraut in a casserole dish. Sprinkle caraway seeds over the top.
  • Step 2
    Layer tomatoes, salad dressing, and meat over sauerkraut in that order.
  • Step 3
    Top with cheese. Toss bread crumbs in butter that has been melted and mixed with the parsley, and sprinkle on top of the casserole. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
