I created a new side recipe for prime rib. It's inspired by Kinder's prime rib seasoning. It's on macaroni and cheese. There are poppy seeds on the bottom.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, cut into 1/2 cubes
  • 4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, cut into 1/2 cubes
  • 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 6 tablespoons prime rib seasoning, divided
  • 16 ounces dry elbow macaroni
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup half and half
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded

How To Make prime macaroni and cheese

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
Coat a 9x13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray. Add cubed sharp cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, poppy seeds, and 2 tablespoons prime steak seasoning; mix well.
  • Step 3
Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. Transfer to a large bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of prime rib seasoning; toss it well until combined.
  • Step 4
Melt margarine in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and 1 tablespoon prime rib seasoning; whisk for about 35 seconds.
  • Step 5
Slowly whisk in heavy cream, half and half, cream cheese, and remaining prime rib seasoning together until melted and creamy.
  • Step 6
Add cooked macaroni; stir well. Cover and let it simmer for 8 minutes.
  • Step 7
Remove from heat. Pour over a prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Step 8
Bake for 30 minutes until the cheese is melted.
