I created another burger casserole recipe with pepper jack cheese, filled with salsa cooked ground beef.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pepper jack cheese, cubed
  • 16 ounces dry elbow macaroni
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons hamburger seasoning
  • 1 cup chunky style salsa
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 4 fresh jalapeno peppers, seeded and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon steak sauce mixed with brown sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese

How To Make pepper jack cheeseburger casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Add cubed pepper jack cheese.
  • Step 3
    Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. Transfer to a large bowl. Mix with grated Parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • Step 4
    Crumble the ground beef into a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook until evenly browned. Season with hamburger seasoning, black pepper, and garlic powder. Drain any excess grease and stir in salsa. Set aside.
  • Step 5
    Heat the margarine in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Combine heavy cream, milk, sliced jalapenos, steak sauce/brown sugar, and cream cheese. Stir well. Bring it to a boil for 6 minutes until thickened.
  • Step 6
    Add salsa cooked ground beef and macaroni mixture; mix well for 5 minutes until blended. Remove from heat.
  • Step 7
    Pour over a prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle with shredded pepper jack cheese.
  • Step 8
    Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely for 15 minutes.
