The brand new burger casserole recipe I created is for the people who love mushroom and Swiss burgers and I've added bacon.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons crushed garlic
  • 2 tablespoons steak seasoning
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons honey mustard
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 pound portabello mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt mixed with black pepper
  • 6 bacon strips, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 2 cups shredded swiss cheese

How To Make mushroom & swiss burger casserole with bacon

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef with crushed garlic and cook for 6 minutes until no longer pink; drain. Season with steak seasoning. Remove from heat.
  • Step 3
    In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, eggs, honey mustard and chopped green onion; whisk well for 4 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Add the ground beef mixture and mix until combined. Spread into the bottom of a 2-quart casserole dish. Press down.
  • Step 5
    Heat margarine in the same skillet over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and saute for 5 minutes or until browned. Season with sea salt/black pepper.
  • Step 6
    Place on top of the ground beef mixture. Scatter bacon pieces over the sauteed mushrooms. Sprinkle with shredded Swiss cheese.
  • Step 7
    Bake for 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
