This was my mom's recipe and the whole family loved it!

  • 2 lbs
    hamburger (raw)
  • 1 lb
    sliced potatoes (raw)
  • 1 small
    sliced onion (raw)
  • 2 large can(s)
    cream of chicken soup
  • A little c
  • 1-2 bag(s)
    frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 bag(s)
    frozen meatballs instead of hamburger

How to Make Mom's Hobo Stew


  1. Crumble a layer of hamburger in the bottom of a13*9 cake pan. Put a layer of potatoes and onions over the hamburger.
  2. In a large mixing bowl combine the cream of chicken soup and milk. Stir until combined. Add the frozen vegetables. Stir.
  3. Pour half of the soup mixture over the potatoes and onions. Keep layering all of the ingredients until gone
  4. Cover with foil. Bake at 350° until potatoes and hamburger are done. Stir halfway through baking.
