macaroni ham casserole

Not really sure where I got this recipe, I changed some quantities a little and this turned out excellent. This is easy to put together, and delicious, family loved this dish.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams dry macaroni, (8 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon butter for sautéing, and additional for greasing the casserole
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cups ham, diced
  • 1 can condensed creamy chicken mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped or 1 teaspoon dried
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

How To Make macaroni ham casserole

  • Step 1
    Heat a pot of salted water to a boil, then added the macaroni and cook until just tender.
  • Step 2
    Once the macaroni is started, go ahead and preheat your oven to 180° C (350° F), grease a 3 quart casserole with butter.
  • Step 3
    Melt the 1 tablespoon of butter in a non stick pan, when hot, add the onion and bell pepper. Sauté until just softened. Add the diced ham and cook until ham is warmed through. I did not have a bell pepper so I just omitted that.
  • Step 4
    When the macaroni is just tender, drain and return to the pot, add the ham mixture, soup, milk, and parsley.
  • Step 5
    Mix together. Pour mixture into the prepared casserole.
  • Step 6
    Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Sprinkle with the Cheddar cheese.
  • Step 8
    Continue to bake until cheese is melted and just starting to brown, about 15 minutes.
  • Big serving of Macaroni Ham Casserole.

    Serve and enjoy.
