i create this new cornbread casserole recipe,it called:Louisiana Cowboy,based on the recipe of Fritos Cowboy Cornbread Casserole,taste like barbecue in the bayou,this recipe contain no navy beans and diced tomatoes

    sour cream
  • 3/4 c
    half and half
  • 3/4 c
    milk
  • 2
    large eggs
  • 2 box
    cornbread mix
  • 1 c
    crushed barbecue potato chips
  • 2
    fresh jalapenos,chopped
  • 1 c
    shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1
    large vidalia sweet onion,peeled and chopped
  • 2
    banana peppers,sliced
  • 1 Tbsp
    steak seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 tsp
    crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbsp
    cajun seasoning
  • 1 jar
    sliced mushrooms,drained
  • 1 can
    whole kernel corn,drained
  • 3 tsp
    creole mustard
  • 3/4 c
    hot and spicy barbecue sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    dark brown sugar
  • 1 c
    barbecue potato chips

How To Make louisiana cowboy cornbread casserole?

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees F

    In a large bowl,whisk sour cream,half and half,milk and eggs together until smooth

    Add cornbread mixes and stir to combine.Add crushed barbecue potato chips,chopped jalapenos and shredded monterey jack cheese and stir to incorporate.

    In a large skillet,brown the ground beef over medium heat.Cook stirring frequently for 5 minutes until the beef is fully cooked and drain off excess grease.

    Add diced vidalia onion and sliced banana peppers to the beef and continue cooking for 3 minutes or until the onion and peppers are tender.Season with steak seasoning,garlic powder,red pepper flakes and cajun seasoning.

    Add sliced mushrooms,whole kernel corn, creole mustard,barbecue sauce and brown sugar to the beef mixture and continue cooking for another 5 minutes.Remove from heat and set aside.

    Spoon the beef mixture to a greased 9x13 baking dish and smooth out into an even layer.

    Pour the cornbread mixture over the beef mixture and carefully spread into an even layer.Sprinkle with barbecue potato chips and lightly press in.
