For the people in New Orleans, I create this new kind of casserole recipe it inspired in New Orleans,it loaded with sauteed crawfish and sliced andouille sausages with a blend, creole seasoning,hot pepper sauce and creole mustard mixed with brown sugar.There's popcorn shrimps and diced hash brown potatoes on the bottom.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen popcorn shrimps,thawed
  • 1 bag frozen diced hash brown potatoes,thawed
  • 4 tablespoons creole seasoning,divided
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound crawfish tails
  • 1 pound andouille sausage,sliced into 1/2 pieces
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons creole mustard mixed with brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sweet and tangy seasoning,divided
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 4 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 8 ounces light cream cheese,softened
  • 1 cup shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese

How To Make loaded new orleans casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Coat the sides and bottom of a 2-quart rectangular baking dish with cooking spray.Add popcorn shrimps and hash brown potatoes;mix well.Season with 1 tablespoon creole seasoning.
  • Step 3
    Heat olive oil in a large,deep skillet over medium-high heat.Add crawfish tails and sliced andouille sausages.Cook and saute for 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Reduce to a low heat.Stir in 2 tablespoons creole seasoning,teriyaki sauce, creole mustard/brown sugar and 1 tablespoon sweet and tangy seasoning. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Step 5
    Melt margarine in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Step 6
    Combine heavy cream,half and half,remaining sweet and tangy seasoning,hot pepper sauce,cream of mushroom soup,cream cheese and remaining creole seasoning;stir well and let it simmer for 6 minutes or until thickened.
  • Step 7
    Add sauteed crawfish/sausage mixture;mix together for 3 minutes until combined.
  • Step 8
    Pour into a prepared baking dish and spread evenly.Sprinkle with shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese.
  • Step 9
    Bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
