When I was a very young bride, my Aunt Joyce gave me this tried and true lasagna recipe. It is still a favorite some 40 years later. Try it, you’ll thank me later!

Ingredients

  • 1 box lasagna noodles
  • 2 cans spaghetti sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound pork sausage, mild
  • 1 tablespoon garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 24 ounces cottage cheese, small curd
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

How To Make lasagna

  • Step 1
    Boil lasagna noodles until tender. Drain and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Cook ground beef and sausage until brown and crumbled. Add garlic and Italian seasoning while the meat browns.
  • Step 3
    Add spaghetti sauce to the meat and simmer on low for 15 - 20 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Create your cheese layer by combining cottage cheese, eggs, and Parmesan cheese. Stir together well.
  • Step 5
    Layer in 9x13 dish, as follows: Noodles Meat sauce Ricotta/cottage cheese mixture Mozzarella cheese Repeat layers.
  • Step 6
    Make a day or two ahead so flavors will be fully incorporated. Keep refrigerated.
  • Step 7
    Bake at 360 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour or until bubbling.
